Manual, automated and where it actually counts
Quality assurance for iGaming platforms
A visual regression is embarrassing. A double-credited bonus, a wager that debits twice or a withdrawal that escapes its approval gate costs real money and can cost a licence. Argon builds QA around those paths first: the wallet, the bonus engine, the game round, the cashier and the compliance gates, with automation in your pipeline and a release gate that means something.
01
Where teams get stuck
- Regression testing cannot keep up
- A manual pack that takes four days gates a two-day change. Either the release slows down or the pack quietly stops being run in full.
- The expensive bugs are not in the UI
- Idempotency, concurrency, provider retries and reconciliation are where money is lost, and they are invisible to click-through testing.
- Nobody knows if a release is safe
- Without coverage data, an agreed gate and a rehearsed rollback, go-live becomes a judgement call made by whoever is most tired.
iGaming consideration
Providers resend callbacks. Players double-tap. Networks drop mid-payment. The correct behaviour on the second identical request is the test that matters most, and it is the one usually missing.

What we do
- QA strategy and maturity assessment
- Where your risk actually sits, what to automate and what never to, the test pyramid that fits your team, and the release gate criteria that follow from it.
- Test automation
- End-to-end suites in Playwright or Cypress, API and contract tests, unit and integration coverage, all running in CI on every pull request with results a developer can act on.
- Money path and reconciliation testing
- Deposit, wager, win, bonus, adjustment and withdrawal tested as ledger outcomes. Duplicate callbacks, concurrent writes, timeouts mid-transaction and replayed requests all deliberately provoked.
- Bonus and promotion testing
- Eligibility, wagering contribution, expiry, capping, stacking and abuse vectors, including the combinations your campaign calendar is about to create.
- Provider and integration testing
- Aggregator and studio sandboxes, payment provider edge cases, KYC vendor decision paths, and failure injection on every third party you depend on.
- Performance and load testing
- Peak profiles modelled from your own data, soak tests, spike tests on tournament and campaign shapes, with findings tied to the component that broke.
- Compliance and certification support
- Evidence for geo restriction, age and identity gates, responsible gaming controls, self-exclusion enforcement and reporting accuracy, packaged the way auditors ask for it.
- Manual and exploratory testing
- Structured exploratory sessions and a real device matrix, run by testers who know where this category hides its defects.

What you receive
- Written test strategy with risk-based scope and an explicit release gate
- Automated suites running in CI, maintained and documented, owned by you
- Regression pack covering the money paths and the compliance gates
- Load and soak test reports against an agreed peak profile
- Defect taxonomy and reporting that shows trend, not just count
- Handover and training so your team can extend the suites without us

How the work runs
01
Assess
Current coverage, defect history, release process and the incidents that reached players. Risk gets ranked by cost, not by volume.
02
Strategy
What is automated, what stays manual, what gates a release, who owns which layer, and how flakiness gets handled.
03
Build the safety net
Highest-risk paths automated first. The wallet before the marketing page, always.
04
Wire into CI
Tests run on every pull request, with fast feedback, clear failure output and no tolerance for a permanently red suite.
05
Harden
Load, resilience, provider failure injection and the compliance evidence pack.
06
Transfer
Your engineers and testers take ownership, with documentation and a review period behind them.

Why iGaming differs
- Test the retry, not just the request
- Providers resend callbacks. Players double-tap. Networks drop mid-payment. The correct behaviour on the second identical request is the test that matters most, and it is the one usually missing.
- Reconciliation is a test case
- Every game round, payment and bonus grant should be traceable to a ledger entry. A nightly reconciliation that nobody has tested is a report that will be wrong quietly.
- Compliance gates need negative tests
- Proving a self-excluded player cannot log in, a blocked state cannot register and an unverified account cannot withdraw matters more than proving the happy path works.

Questions
Should we automate everything?
No. Automate what is stable, high risk and frequently repeated. Exploratory testing finds different defects and no suite replaces it. A hundred percent automation target usually produces a slow, brittle suite that people learn to ignore.
Can you work inside our existing framework?
Yes, and we prefer it where the framework is sound. Where it is unmaintainable we will say so and give you the cost of both options rather than quietly rewriting it.
Do you help with platform certification?
We prepare the evidence, run the tests the certifier will want to see and fix what they surface. We are not an accredited test house, and we will point you to one when that is what the licence requires.
How do you handle flaky tests?
Treated as defects with an owner and a deadline, quarantined rather than retried into silence. A suite people do not trust is worse than no suite, because it consumes time and returns no signal.
